Since training with Kenny, not only am I the strongest I have ever been, but I also look the best I ever have. Big words, I know BUT 100% TRUE. Growing up, I was very active and an athlete, but as an adult, I became sedentary due to work and bad habits I developed along the way. I started 2019 obese, depressed, and had been told by my doctor that if I didn’t change my ways, I was on the road to developing Type 2 diabetes, autoimmune disorders, and a very unhealthy body. Talk about a gut punch. I had tried to get healthy and lose weight in the past – joined fancy gyms, worked with other trainers, paid for boutique classes - but nothing stuck. Enter Kenny Santucci.

When I started training with Kenny, I had already started my health journey but he has coached me to get my mind, body, and spirit strong – to levels I never thought possible. I hadn’t strength trained since high school, during my first session with him I literally could only a hold a plank for 15 seconds. 15 seconds. Kenny met me where I was and made me feel comfortable and strong with what I was able to do. He pushed me to my max while ensuring I was moving safely and correctly. I can still remember when he had me do my first wall walk handstand because I felt like such a badass – never in my life did I think I would do a handstand. I like to call Kenny my Michelangelo – he has the vision of what my body can look like and do and is training me to get there.

After training with Kenny for nine months, I have been able to do my first real push-up EVER, can now hold a plank for over one minute and 30 seconds, and am close to a kick-up handstand. And let’s be honest – strength is great – but I love that I smile every time I look in the mirror and see a toned, fit, sexy body!!!

But it’s not just about the body. Kenny has been my fitness Yoda. He gives me tough love when I need it, but also listens to me and coaches me through issues I face. His passion for and belief in me is so strong that it has permeated into my thought system – increasing both my self-esteem and my belief in myself. Kenny has an X factor and is authentically himself which makes me want to do the same in my own way. Kenny has supported me in my journey of losing over 85 pounds, boosting my self-esteem, and has inspired me to become my authentic self. My health has completely 180’d as I am now the healthiest and strongest I have ever been. And it’s still just the beginning.

When I decided it was time to get in shape, I needed someone who was willing to undertake this challenge with me. After meeting Kenny in person, I was convinced that his energy and background matched my criteria. Within a year, he helped transform my health and physique more dramatically than I had anticipated. After two years, I was performing at a level beyond what I thought was initially possible.

While the task was daunting at first, I soon learned how much I could accomplish by getting just a little better – day by day. As those days added up, so did the new movements, heavier lifts, etc., demonstrating that Kenny had a broader master plan. He pushed me to my limits but not once was I ever injured because we took our time. He had a short and long term plan to reach the end goal, which was consistently evolving. Like everyone else, I wanted to be able to do the complicated parlor tricks and we got there by learning to crawl, walk and then run: small steps today translated into big ones tomorrow.

The end result was more impactful than I had originally envisioned: he made me enjoy working out and going to the gym. The journey transformed from an initial goal of getting in shape and looking good to being a part of my life, no different than brushing my teeth or going to work. Now, I feel that I can walk into any gym, anywhere, and not be worried about whatever the workout is. I can handle it, I know when to push more, and equally important, when to rest and relax.

In addition to the physical aspects, our work has also impacted my mental health. I certainly think more lucidly, am more excited about my professional life and am happier in general. I also learned that it’s never too late to start. If you assemble the proper team, pick the right coach, work hard and consistently, it’s amazing what you can achieve.

Steve Jobs famously said, “People with passion can change the world.” And this is certainly true for Kenny Santucci. The first time I walked into his gym almost 2 years ago and took his HIIT class, although overwhelmed by the complexity of the program, I was absolutely impressed with his knowledge of the fitness world and how eloquently he would conduct his class. I had never been a gym enthusiast, but I had always loved being around people and the concept of group fitness classes enticed me. I knew how hard it was to start, but I did not want this to be a false one. I was inspired by the culture he had created, allowing people to find themselves in the gym and his passion for fitness. That is why I decided to stick with it.

As it is the case for any sustained improvement, consistency was key. Due to his diverse program that incorporated multiple methods and equipment, I found myself working out on a regular basis, several times a week. Very quickly, I started seeing results. Not only was my body changing, but I could feel that I was getting stronger. I had more energy and my mood was improving significantly. His strength training program enhanced my endurance capacity and I was seeing steady improvements every week. Recognizing how I had earned and obtained all these achievements, increased my levels of optimism and inspired me to give my best effort not only at the gym, but in all facets of my life.

Despite the demand Kenny puts on me, he has taught me many things. He has facilitated my growth process by provideing significant guidance through advice and support, and I know that is what he values most in his life. Not the competitions he has won or the programs he has developed, but the people he has helped. Through his own actions, he has inspired me to dream big, aim high, and to never be satisfied with the status quo. He has been more than a coach to me. He is a great friend, loyal mentor, and I consider myself lucky to have him in my corner.
